The Wedding
The big day will be November 2nd, 2024 at Bosjes in South Africa’s Wine Country. Since everyone will be making such a long journey, we have planned an exciting schedule of events in Cape Town and the Wine Country (just outside of Cape Town) in the days leading up, and after, the day of our wedding. We strongly encourage everyone to arrive in Cape Town a few days early and enjoy the pre-wedding events that we have planned. There will also be post-wedding events in the Wine Country the day after the wedding. Please see the Itinerary for specifics.
The Safari
South Africa is far from home, and since you will have already made the trip, we want to make sure that you have the opportunity to experience everything that South Africa has to offer. After the wedding festivities have concluded there will be a safari into the South Africa bush for any and all who wish to join. This is an additional trip, and it is optional, but we strongly encourage everyone to experience the natural wonder that South Africa offers. We promise it will be the trip of a lifetime. Jason and Kim are working with the leading safari guide in South Africa and the foremost big game veterinarian on the African continent south of the Equator to plan an exceptional safari experience that you will be sure to never forget. By design, this will be an opportunity to experience nature in a way that you likely have never experienced before, but your accommodations will be exclusive and high-end.
Our safari will be hosted at Entabeni Mountain Lodges. Mr. Andre Van Der Walt will be our lead game ranger and safari guide. Dr. Zoe Glyphis will be the on site game veterinarian. There will be daily morning and afternoon game drives and planned events each day. There are also ample opportunities to plan additional excursions that can make any of your safari dreams come true. Please plan to book these in advance with Entabeni.
Additional Excursions Include:
- Horseback Safari
- ATV (Quad) Safari
- Guided Bush Walking Safari
- Sunset Lakeside Cruise
- Sport Fishing
- Extreme 19 Helicopter and Golf
- Helicopter Tours
- Golf (can include lessons with golf pro)
- Spa Treatments
- Hot Air Ballooning

Accommodation Details and Costs
Hotel accommodations will be provided in Cape Town and the Wine Country on the dates listed on the itinerary. The costs of these accommodations are included with your invitation free of charge to you. You will only be financially responsible for your airfare to South Africa and your incidental expenses in Cape Town and the Wine Country. At the hotels, you will be asked to put a credit card on file for your incidentals. The meals and travel that will be provided free of charge are listed on the itinerary.
In Cape Town you will be staying at The Commodore Hotel, unless you have made alternative plans directly with Jason and Kim. In the Wine Country, you will be staying at either Bosjes or the Tulbagh Hotel. Your personal accommodations will be assigned in the near future.
For guests that join the safari trip, you will be responsible for your own costs and expenses. Our safari will be hosted at Entabeni Mountain Lodges. The all-inclusive cost is $260 per person (based on an 18:1 exchange rate), per night (6 nights planned). The base price of the Safari includes accommodations, game drives, food, and drinks (bottled water, coffee, tea, local beer, wine, and ciders). Tips are additional and are typically added at the end of your stay. Tips should equal between 10-20% of your bill. If someone (particularly a game driver) gives you exceptional service feel free to tip them extra at that moment in time.
The cost of the chartered flight from Cape Town to the bush and corresponding ground transportation will be approximately $300 per person. More details on the chartered domestic flight will be forthcoming.
Payments for safari accommodations should be made directly to Entabeni. Entabeni accepts wire transfers for direct FX transfers and major credit cards. There is an additional 3% service charge for credit cards. A 50% deposit is required by May 1, 2024, and the remaining 50% should be paid by August 4, 2024.
